approved May 20, 1903, as amended by an act approved December 18, 1903.
so as to authorize county, city, and district officers who are appointed tc
fill vacancies, to qualify in the same manner as if elected by the people.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That section one
undred and eight of the Code of Virginia, as amended by an act ap-
roved March seventh, eighteen hundred and eighty-four, as amended by}
n act approved May twentieth, nineteen hundred and three, as amended

mended and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
$108. All officers appointed under the two preceding sections to fil!
acancies, shall, within thirty days after their appointment, qualify and
ive bond before the court or judge making the appointment, or before
he clerk of the court having authority to make such appointment, ir
ike manner as is provided by section eight hundred and twelve for the
ualification of such officers when elected by the people.
2. An emergency exists because of the inconveniences and delays here-
ofore existing, and therefore this act shall be in force from its passage.
