1, Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That section tw:
thousand one hundred and fifty-four of the Code of Virginia of eighteen
padre and eighty-seven, be amended and re-enacted so as to read a:
ollows :
$2154. If any person take, steal, or carry away, without permission 0!
the owner, oysters imbedded or planted, ovsters deposited by any persor
making up a cargo for market, or shells planted for formation of oyste1
leds, shall be deemed guilty of the larceny thereof, and upon convictior
be confined not less than one nor more than three months for each offense
or fined not less than twenty-five dollars nor more than one hundred

dollars for each offense, either or both, in the discretion of the jury or
of the justice or court trying the case, if it shall be tried without a jury.
2. All acts and parts of acts in conflict with this act are herewith re-
pealed.
