Chap. 114.—An ACT to provide judges for new or additional circuits when
created, and for their terms of office.

Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That at the
on of the general assembly at which a new or additional judicial
it is created there shall be chosen by the joint vote of the two
es of the general assembly a judge for such circuit, for a term of
| Years, commencing on the first day of February next following his
ion.

The governor shall appoint a judge for such circuit to fill the
ncy between the time the act creating the circuit goes into effect, and
commencement of the term of the judge chosen by the general as-
ly.

An emergency exist to provide judges for the new or additional
its created at the present session of the general assembly, and this
hall be in force from its passage.
