Chap. 24.—An ACT to regulate the number of votes to be cast by the school trus-
tees of the city of Charlottesville, Virginia, in the semi-annual meetings of the
city and county school boards held at the Miller school on Tuesday after the
third Monday in January and July of each year, or any adjourned meeting
thereof.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That at the
semi-annual meetings of the school trustees of the city of Charlottesville
and the county of Albemarle, Virginia, held at the Miller school on the
Tuesday after the third Monday in January and July of each year, or
any adjourned meeting thereof, said school trustees of said city school
board shall only be entitled to cast three votes on any question that may
be presented to said school board at said meetings, it being the inten-
tion of this act to give to said city school trustees the same number of
votes as is now cast by each of the district school boards at said meetings,
namely, three. The mode of selecting the three members of said city
school board to cast said vote shall be done by said city school board in
the manner deemed best by it. In all other matters except voting, all of
the trustees of said city school board shall have the same privileges as
the members of the district school boards.
2. This being an emergency act, shall be in force from its passage.
