Chap. 222.—An ACT to authorize the board of supervisors of Middlesex county
to borrow money for the purpose of rebuilding the jail and repairing the
- elerk’s office of said county and to issue bonds therefor.
Approved March 15, 1904.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the board
of supervisors of Middlesex county be, and they are hereby, authorized
and empowered to borrow a sum of money not exceeding seven thousand
dollars, and to issue bonds pledging the faith and credit of the said
county therefor, in such amount or amounts, bearing interest at such
rate not exceeding six per centum per annum, and payable at such time
or times as may be contracted for and prescribed by them, the money so
borrowed to be used for the purpose of building a jail in said county
in place of the one lately destroyed by fire, and to repair the clerk’s
office of said county.
2. An emergency for the immediate operation of this act existing by
reason of the destruction of said jail as aforesaid and the condition
of said clerk’s office, this act shall be in force from its passage.
