Chap. 14.—An ACT to amend and re-enact an act approved December 10, 1903
entitled “an act vesting in the circuit courts of this Commonwealth, and in: the
judges thereof, the jurisdiction and powers now vested in and exercised by the
duties imposed upon the county court or the judges thereof under the laws of!
this State or under any will or writing,” which is chapter 401 of the acts of the
special session of 1902 and 1903.

Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the act ap,
proved December tenth, nineteen hundred and three, for vesting the ju.
risdiction of the county courts and judges thereof, in the cireuit court:
and judges, which is chapter four hundred and one of the acts of the
special session of nineteen hundred and two and nineteen hundred anc
three, be amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
1. The jurisdiction and powers which were vested in the county court:
and the judges and officers thereof, respectively, on the thirty-first day
of January, nineteen hundred and four, by the laws of this State, o
under any will or other instrument of writing, shall be vested in, exer
cised by and imposed upon the circuit courts and the judges and officer:
thereof, except when otherwise specially provided.
2. All such acts and proceedings of the circuit courts, judges, and offi
cers thereof, respectively, whether de jure or de facto officers, done or hac
since January thirty-first, nineteen hundred and four, as may hereafte
be done under this act, are hereby ratified and made valid,
3. The many acts and proceedings covered by this act which require
daily attention create an emergency, and this act shall be in force from
its passage.
