Chap. 13.—An ACT to provide for the correction of errors in judgments and pro-
ceedings in cases pending or decided in the county courts on or pricr to Febru-
ary 1, 1904, and for the disposition of such cases where further proceedings are
necessary. .

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the juris-
liction of the circuit courts to grant appeals, writs of error, and super-
edeas to judgments and proceedings of the county courts shall continue
13s it now is as to all judgments and procecdings which may have been
rendered or had prior to February first, nineteen hundred and four, not-
withstanding the abolition of the county courts. If after the judgment
of the circuit court on an appeal or writ of error, whether the same has
peen or may hereafter be granted, further pr occedings are necessary in
the case, it shall be retained and proceeded with in that court.
2. That in all cases which will be removed from the county courts to
the circuit courts on or before February first, nineteen hundred and four,
the circuit courts may review and correct all proceedings had therein in
the county court.
3. The lack of provisions for correcting errors committed by the county
courts where proceedings therefor may not have been commenced creates
an. emergency requiring immediate action, therefore this act shall be in
force from its passage.
