Chap. 77.—An ACT to amend and re-enact an act to incorporate the
Weythe Mining and Manufacturing Company, passed February 2d, 1867.

Passed April 25, 1867.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
Thomas J. Boyd, together with such other persons as may
hereatter be associated with him, shall be and are hereby in-
corporated and made a body politic and corporate, by the
name and style of The Wythe Mining and Manufacturing
Company, for the purposes generally of mining, smelting and
manufacturing, on any of the lands of said Boyd, in the
county of W ythe, in the state of Vi irginia; and of laying out
and constructing any railroad, or other road, in said county,
from any of the mines or other works of gaid company, to
the Virginia and Tennessee railroad, with the consent of
the owners of land through which such roads may pass; and
they are hereby invested with all the rights, powers and
privileges conferred, and made subject to all the regulations
and restrictions imposed by the provisions contained in the
Code of Virginia of the year one thousand eight hundred
and sixty, so far as the same shall be applicable to the busi-
ness and purposes of the said company, and not in conflict
with the provisions of this act.

2. The capital stock of said company shgll not be Tess than
twenty thousand dollars, nor more than one million of dol-
lars, to be divided into shares of fifty dollars each: ‘and each
owner of shares of the stock of said company shall. in all
ceneral mectings of the stockholders of the said company, be
entitled to cast one vote, In all elections or other matters be-
fore any such meeting, for each share of stock owned by hin
or her. And said Thomas J. Boyd shall be authorized t:
exercise and perform all the powers and duties of comuit:.
sioners to receive subscriptions to the stock of said company,
conferred and imposed by said Code on commissioners srene-
rally, for similar purposes, and at any place in or out of th:
state of Virginia which he may select.

3. Said company shall have the right to purchase and hoki
any land in said county of Wythe, not exceeding tive thon-
sand acres in the whole, including any lands belonging to sala
Loyd, or so much teres of as may be avreed on between hit:
and said company; and the said company may be organize:
at any time w ithin five years after teas? passage of this act

4. ‘This act shall be in force from its passage, and sh: ail be
subject to amendment, modification or repeal, at the pleasure
of the gencral assembly.
