Chap. 62.—An ACT concerning Colored Persons as Witnesses.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the act passed February twenty-eighth, eichteen hundred
and sixty-six, entitled an act in relation to the testimony of
colored persons; and the twentieth section of chapter one
hundred and seventy-six of the Code of eighteen hundred
sixty, c@acerning the competency of witnesses, be and the
same are hereby repealed.

2. Beit further enacted, That hereafter colored persons
shall be competent to testify in this statd as if they were
white.

8. This act shall be in force from its passage.
