Chap. 110.—An ACT for the relief of James O. Harris, late Sheriff of
Culpeper County.
. Passed April 26, 1807.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That whenever
James Q. Harris, late sheriff of Culpeper county, shall pay
into the treasury of the state the amount now due by him as
sheriff of the aforesaid county, he shall, trom the day of pay-
ment of the said amount, be authorized to receive and collect
all taxes, fee bills, muster fines and county levies, which were
due in the years eighteen hundred and fifty-nine and eighteen
hundred and sixty, and are still unpaid, and that he shall pos-
sess the same legal rieht in the collection of the same that he
possesredl at the periods hereinbefore mentioned. Said right
shall continue for two years from the accruing of the same:
provided, however, that any person so assvascd With taxes,
fee ills, muster fines and county levies remaining unpaid,
shall be entitled to a stay of its collection for twelve months
from the day of payment, by said Harris, of the atoresaid
amount now due by him. The hen for the amount for taxes,

such stay.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
