Chap. 105.—An ACT to amend and re-enact the Ist section of an act e
titled an act incorporating the Lynchburg and Danville- Railroad Cun
pany, passed February 21st, 1866.
Passed April 25, 1807.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That the firs
section of an act entitled an act incorporating the Lynch
burg and Danville railroad company, passed February th
twenty-first, eighteen hundred and sixty-six, be amended an
re-enacted so as to read as follows:
“91. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That it shal
be lawful to open books of subscription in the city of Lynch
burg, under the direction of F. B. Deane, Samuel MeCork'e
John M. Warwick, D. W. Burton, Bowling Clarke, Charly:
II. Lynch, A. J. Clarke, or any three of them; and in the
town of Danville, under the direction of Wilham W. Keen
W. T. Sutherlin, J. C. Voss, J. M. Walker, William M. Tred
way, J. M. Whittle, L. M. Shumaker, or any three of them
for the purpose of receiving subseriptions to ap amount not
exceeding two millions five hundred thousand dollars. in
shares of one hundred dollars each, to constitute a joint cup:
tal stock for constructing a railroad trom the city of Lyne “hie
burg to the town of Danville; and it shall be lawful for the
Orange and Alexandria railroad company to subseribe to the
stock to be issued for this purpose, and to pay such subserip-
lions in money, iron, rolling stock or other railroad materi:
or to execute bonds therefor, upon terms to be agreed upen,
Ineach case, by the parties, and without beme in any man
ner held decountable as partners or otherwise, except to the
extent and in the manner provided in snen contract.”
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
