Chap. 62.—An ACT for the relief of John P. Aylor, late Sheriff of
Madison County.
Passed January 14, 1867. —
W hereas:it appears from the books of the auditor of this
state, that the accounts of John P. Aylor, late sheriff of
Madison county, for the years eighteen hundred and fifty-
nine and eighteen hundred and sixty, have been settled and
paid in full: Therefore, oo, | .
1. Beit enacted by the general assembly, That John P.
Aylor, late sheriff of Madison ‘county, be and is hereby au-
thorized to receive and collect all taxes, fee bills, muster fines
and county levies, which were due in the years eighteen hun-
dred and fifty-nine and eighteen hundred and sixty, and are
still unpaid;, and that he shall hereby possess the same legal
right, in the collection of the same, that he had or-possessed
at the periods hereinbeforementioned. Said right shall con-
tinue for two years from the passage of this act: provided,
however, that any person so assessed with taxes, fee bills,
muster fines and county levies, remaining unpaid, shall be
entitled to a stay of its collection for twelve months from the
passage of this act. The lien for the amount thereof shall
be unaffected by such stay. i
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
