Chap. 38, —An ACT to ame! and re-enact section 28 of chapter 162 of
the Code of 1860, in relation to Pay of Jurors. ¢

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That section
twenty-eight of chapter one hundred and: sixty-two of the
Code of Virginia for eighteen hundred and sixty, bgpmended
and re- -enacted so as to read as follows:
“§ 28. Jurors, in prosecutions for felony, whether in‘a cir-
cuit, county or corporation court, shall be paid as provided
in the tenth section of chapter two hundred and eight. Ju-
rors in prosecutions for misdemeanors, shall each be entitlec
to receive out of the public treasury, and j jurors in civil cases
out of the county or corporation levy, one dollar for eack
day he attends the court: And’ when, during the same day
a person has served‘on juries for which he would be entitlec
to be paid out of the public treasury, and also on juries fo!
which he would be entitled to be paid out of the cdunty o1
corporation levy, the court shall appor tion the charge ratably
according to the service rendered.” ,
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
