direct the clerk of the court to destroy manuscript records in cases where th
records are printed, and to require the binding of the records with briefs ©!
counsel in each case.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the suprem
court of appeals of Virginia may, whenever in its opinion it shall |
necessary to relieve the clerk's office e, direct its clerk to destroy the man:
script of records in cases where the records have been printed, and whi. |
have been decided for two years.
2. The clerk of the said court shall, as soon as the case is decided, caus
the record in the ease to be bound, along with the briefs of counsel, in ts:
same manner that acts of assembly are bound; and the clerk of the sa:
court shall, when he collects the writ tax in each case, collect of tl:
appellant, or plaintiff in error, as the case may be, a fee of fifty cents :
pay the cost of such binding.
3. This act shall be in force from its passage.
