Chap. 45.— An ACT to authorize the town comneil of the town of Luray to borrow
money and inercase Jevy for street and read: purposes.
Approved January 26, 1903,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the tewn
council of the town of Luray, Page county, Virginia, be. and the said
council is hereby. authorized and empowered to Lorrew the stm of two
thousand five hundred dollars with which to complete a bridge now in
process of construction across the TLawssbill creek. in said town.
That the rate of interest to be paid on the money borrowed as afore-
said shall not exceed four and one-half per centunm per annum, to be paid
annually, and the said council shall issue certificates of imedebtedness,
pavable annually out of the revenues of said town at such time and for
such amounts as the said counei shall fix and determine.
That the said council shalt have the power and is hereby author-
ized to mncrcase the tax devy for street and road purposes in said town to
thirty cents on cach one hundred dollars of the assessed value of the real
and personal property ino said tewn for the purpose of increasing said
fund with which to pay said certificates of indebtedness.
4. By reason of the dilapidated and dangerous condition of the old
bridge across said creek, it was and is absolute ly necessary that the bridge
for which this bill provides shall he cons structed at once: therefore this
act shall be in force from its passage.
