Chap. 278.—An ACT to incorporate the Accotink Creek Navigation Com-
pany.
Passed March 1, 1867.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That for the pur-
pose of improving the navigation of Accotink creek, in the
county of Fairfax, it shall be lawful to open books for recel Ve
ing subscriptions to an amount not exceeding five thousand
dollars, to constitute a joint capital stock, to be divided into
shares of twenty-five dollars each.
2. The said books shall be opened at Accotink under the
superintendence of Jacob Troth, Samuel Mason and P. Hill-
man Troth, and: at such other places as said commissioners
may dir ect. : When forty shares shall have been subscribed,
the subscribers, their executors, administrators and assigns,
shall be and they are hereby incorporated into a company by
the name and style of The Accotink Navigation Company,
with all the rights and privileges, and subject to all the rules,
regulations and restrictions imposed by the Code of Virginia,
applicable thereto.
3. The said company shall commence the work within
three years, and finish the same within five years from the
commencement of the work: provided, that the legislature
reserves to itself the right to amend, alter and modify this
act.
4, This act shall be in force from its passage.
