Chap. 251.—An ACT to amend and re-enact an act to incorporate the
Virginia Steam Sugar Refining Company, passed February 4th, 1866.
Passed February 27, 1867.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That Charles
Y. Morris, E. 8. Hammond, Abner F. Harvey, Wellington
Goddin, W. B. Isaacs, J ohn B. Cary, R. O. Crowley, and
such others as may her eafter be associated with them, be and
they are hereby created and made a body politic, under the
name and style of The Virginia Steam Sugar Refining Com-
pany, in the county of Henrico and city of Richmond, for
the purpose of refining sugar, manufacturing candy, and dm-
porting materials and machinery for that purpose; and said
company shall be invested with all. the rights, powers and
privileges conferred, and be subject to all rules, regulations
and restrictions imposed by the Code ‘of Virginia in relation
to joint stock companies.
2. The capital stock of said company shall not be less than
thirty thousand dollars nor more than three hundred thou-
sand dollars, to be-divided into shares of one hundred dollars
each.
3. The said company shall have the right to purchase and
hold lands and wharves in said countyv-of Henrico and citv
of Richmond, not exceeding ten acres, and to purchase and
hold vessels for their importations.
4. This act shall be subject to amendrhent, alteration or
modification at, the pleasure of the general assembly, and
shall be in force from its passage. :
