Chap. 229.—An ACT for the relief of J. M. Walker and others, securities
of C. W. Watkins, sergeant of Danville.
Passed February 22, 1867.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That J. M.
Walker and others, securities of C. W. Watkins, sergeant of
Danville, be and the same are hereby released. from the pay-
ment of the damages recovered by the commonwealth against
the satd C. W. Watkins, in the circuit court of the city of
Richmond, on three several judgments rendered—one on
the twenty-fifth of March, eighteen hundred and sixty-six,
one other on the same day, one other judgment rendered on
the nineteenth January, eighteen hundred and sixty-seven :
provided, that the whole amount of principal, interest and
cost shall be fully paid into the public treasury on or before
the first day of August, eighteen hundred and sixty-seven.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
