Chap. 224.—An ACT in relation to the Virginia Canal Company.
Passed February 1, 1867.
Resolved by the general assembly of Vir ginia, That the
following acts and resolutions be revived and continued in
force for six' months from the first day of March, eighteen
hundred and sixty-seven, viz: —
1. An act to amend and re-enact the act entitled an act to
incorporate the Virginia canal company, and to transfer the
rights and franchises of the James river and Kanawha com-
pany thereto, passed March twenty-ninth, eighteen hundred
and sixty-one; passed February third, eighteen hundred and
sixty-six. eo
2. Joint resolutions in relation to an act entitled an act to
amend and re-enact the act entitled an act to incorporate the
Virginia canal.company, &c., passed February third, eighteen
hundred and sixty-six; passed February ninth, eighteen hun-
dred and sixty-six. 7 |
3. An act giving the consent of the state of Virginia to
the action of West Virginia in regard to the Virginia canal
company, passed February twenty-eighth, eighteen hundred
and sixty-six.
Resolved, That if, within the said period of six months,
Messrs. Bellot des Minieres, Brothers and Company shall
have complied with the conditions required, and the Virginia
canal company shall have been organized as provided in the
said acts and resolutions, then the said acts and resolutions
shall continue in full force as if passed this day.
Resolved, That the general assembly of West Virginia is
hereby respectfully invited to pass a concurring statute at its
present session, giving its assent to the above resolutions.
