Baptist denominations, known as the Missionary Baptist church and the
Anti-missionary Baptist church; and
Whereas the Anti-missionary denomination withdrew from the said
place of worship, and the Missionary Baptist denomination in eighteen
hundred and forty-eight built a house of public worship on said acre of
land and had a large membership. and held said house and lot in their
exclusive possession, and continued to worship there until said house
was burned in eighteen hundred and sixty-three: and
Whereas said Missionary Baptist denomination has recently built
another handsome and commodious house of public worship on said lot
without having the title to said lot vested in said Missionary Baptist
