Chap. 308.—An ACT to protect Mongolian and English pheasants and the
cross between Mongolian and English pheasants in the county of Rock-
ingham. ‘
Approved February 16, 1901.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That it shall be
unlawful to take or destroy the eggs or to kill or capture, sell or offer for
sale, or buy any Mongolian or English pheasants, or cross between Mon-
golian and English pheasant in the county of Rockingham.
2. The possession, except for breeding purposes, of any Mongolian or
English pheasant, or cross between the Mongolian and Hnglish pheasant,
whether dead or alive, by any person, shall be prima facie evidence that
such person has violated this Jaw.
3. Any person convicted of violation of this law shall be fined not less
than ten dollars, and five dollars in addition shall be taxed as part of
the costs, which said five dollars shall go to the informer.
