Chap. 29.—An ACT to authorize the sale of old Ferguson chapel, in Russell
county.

Whereas a house formerly used for public worship by the Missionary
Baptist denomination, the Methodist Episcopal church, south, and Chris
tian church, known as Old Ferguson chapel, in Russell county, is very
much dilapidated and has ceased to be used as a place of public worship:
therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That Alexander
Garrett, acting for the Methodist Episcopal church, south, R. C. Camp-
bell, representing the Christian church, and Samuel D. Williams, acting
for the Missionary Baptist church, be, and by this act they are, empow-
ered and duly authorized to sell and convey said house and grounds
belonging to same, containing about one acre of land, either at public
or private sale, to be determined on by a majority of said persons, and
divide the proceeds thereof equally between the said churches.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
