Chap. 279.—An ACT to allow the county court of Albemarle county to make
corrections of clerical errors in assessor’s books for 1900.
Approved February 16, 1901.
Whereas there are certain errors in the books of the assessors of Albe-
marle county for the year nineteen hundred, which are only clerical ;
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the county
court of Albemarle be, and is, hereby authorized at its March or April
term, nineteen hundred and one, to make correction of any such clerical
errors made by the assessors of real estate for said county, as to number of
acres, location and name of owners, and to correct the assessment to con-
form to the rate of valuation per acre; but nothing in this act shall be
construed to be a repeal or modification of an act entitled an act to
amend and re-enact section four hundred and forty-four of the code of
Virginia, in relation to how and where erroneous assessments of land cor-
rected, approved March eighth, eighteen hundred and ninety-four. All
corrections under this act shall be certified by the clerk of the court to
the auditor of public accounts, and the cdst incurred shall be paid by the
assessor or assessors, if the error was through his or their neglect.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
