CHAP. 259.—An ACT to amend section 1 of an act entitled an act for the
protection of game and song birds in the counties of Amelia and Nottoway,
approved December 14, 1897.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That section one
of an act entitled “an act for the protection of game and song birds in
the counties of Amelia and Nottoway, approved December fourteenth,
eighteen hundred and ninety-seven, be amended and re-enacted so as to
read as follows: that it shall be unlawful to kill or capture, or to offer
for sale partridges or quail in the counties of Amelia and Nottoway be-
tween the first day of February and the first day of November; nor any
decr between the thirteenth day of January and the first day of Septem-
ber; or any wild turkeys between the first day of February and the fif-
teenth day of October; nor hares or rabbits when snow is on the ground;
nor shall it be lawful to kill or capture or offer for sale anv of the birds
or animals above-mentioned (deer excepted) whilst snow is on the
ground; or at any time to kill any mocking bird, brown thrush or car
dinal or red bird in said counties.
