Chap. 220.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section 1373 of the Code of Vir-
ginia in relation to the public ferry across the Curotoman river in the
county of Lancaster.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That section
thirteen hundred and seventy-three of the code of Virginia be amended
and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
§ 1373. Ferry across Curotoman river.—The public free ferry across
the Curotoman river, in the county of Lancaster, authorized by the act
of the twelfth of March, eighteen hundred and forty-seven, shall be estab-
lished and kept according to the said act, except that the county court of
Laneaster may, in its discretion, have the contract for keeping the same
let to the lowest bidder for the period of five years, and exeept that the
bonds thereby directed shall be to the county of Lancaster instead of the
justices thereof.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
