Chap. 213.—An ACT to authorize the justices of the peace of the Washing-
ton district in the county of Westmoreland, to issue warrants and try the
same within the jurisdiction of the town of Colonial Beach.
Approved February 15, 1901.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the justices
of the peace of the Washington magisterial district, in the county of
Westmoreland, are hereby authorized and empowered to issue warrants
of arrest in criminal cases, and to dispose of the same as the law requires,
within the jurisdiction of the town of Colonial Beach, in said county.
and said warrants may be directed to and executed by the sheriff of
Westmoreland county, or any constable of said district.
2. Nothing herein shall be construed to authorize said justices to
take cognizance for and on behalf of said town of any offenses committed
against the laws and ordinances of said town.
3. All acts and parts of acts, so far as they conflict with the jurisdic-
tion hereby specially given to the said justices of said magisterial dis-
trict are hereby repealed.
4. This act shall be in force from its passage.
