Chap. 108.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section 26 of an act approved
March 6, 1900, entitled an act to amend and re-enact an act entitled an act
to provide for the working and keeping in order, building, and maintaining
the public roads and bridges in the county of Scott, the opening and estab-
lishment of new roads, and to provide the funds therefor, approved Febru-
ary 14, 1898.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That section
twenty-six of an act to amend and re-enact an act entitled an act to pro-
vide for the working and keeping in order, building and maintaining the
public roads and bridges in the county of Scott, the opening and estab-
lishment of new roads, and to provide the funds therefor approved
February fourteenth, eighteen hundred and ninety-eight, be amended and
re-enacted so as to read as follows:
§ 26. Any person or persons hauling logs or lumber over any section
of road, and thereby damaging the same, shall repair it; and if said
road is not repaired within ten days after notice from the overseer or in-
spector of roads, the overseer of such section shall repair it and require
the person or persons hauling said logs to pay all costs thereby incurred,
which costs may be recovered before a justice of the peace.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
