Chap. 103.—An ACT to authorize the secretary of the commonwealth to tura
over to the department of public instruction certain annual reports of
State officers.

Whereas the reports of the superintendent of public instruction for
the years cighteen hundred and seventy-two, eighteen hundred and
seventy-three, eighteen hundred and seventy-four, eighteen hundred and
seventy-five, eighten hundred and seventy-six, eighteen hundred and
seventy-seven, eighteen hundred and seventy-nine, cighteen hundred and
eighty-one, eighteen hundred and eighty-three, cighteen hundred and
eighty-five, eighteen hundred and ninety-eight, and eighteen hundred
and ninety-nine are exhausted, and cannot be supplied to such school
oflicials aud institutions of learning as may need them; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the see-
retary of the commonwealth be, and he is, hereby authorized to turn
over, without cost to the department of public instruction, so many of
the volumes of the reports of the state officers for the foregoing years as
the department of public instruction may deem necessar yfor its purposes.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
