Chap. 178.—An ACT to abolish the office. of Superintendent of Weights
and Measures, and transferring the duties of the office to the Register
of the Land Office.
Passed February 9, 1867.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That the second
section of chapter eighty-nine ‘of the’ Code of Virginia be
repealed, and that the office of superintendent of weights
and measures be and the same is hereby abolished; and that
the duties heretofore required of the superintendent shall be
performed by the register of the land office without addi-
tional compensation.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
