Chap. 171.—An ACT to amend and re-enact the 11th section of Chapter
170 of the Code, in relation to the Posting of Orders of Publication.
Passed February 7, 1867.
1. Beit enacted by the general assembly, That the eleventh
section, chapter one-hundred and seventy of the Code, be
amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
“§ 11. Every order of publication shall state briefly the
object of the suit, and require the defendants a@painst whom
it is entered, or the unknown parties, to appear within one
month after due publication thereof, and do what is necessary
to protect their interest. It shall be published once a week
for four successive weeks, in such newspaper as the court
may prescribe, or if none be 80 prescribed, as the clerk may
direct ; and shall be posted by the clerk at the front door of
the courthouse of the county or corporation wherein the
court is held, on the first day of the next county or corpora-
tion court after it is entered.”
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
