Chap. 15.—An ACT to amend and re-enact the Ist section of chapter 164
of the Code of 1860, and the act amendatory thereof, passed 14th Jan-
uary, 1864, in relation to granting Licenses to Attorneys at Law; and
to render Valid all Licenses signed by any Judge of the Supreme Court
of Appeals of Virginia since the 14th January, 1864.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That section
one of chapter one hundred and sixty-four of the Code, (edi-
tion of eighteen hundred and sixty), as amended by the act
passed January the fourteenth, eighteen hundred and sixty-
four, entitled an act to amend chapter one hundred and sixty-
four of the Code, in relation to granting licenses to attorneys
at law, be amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
“§1. Any two judges, chosen under the constitution of
this state, may grant. a license in writing to practice law in
the eourts of this state to any person who shall, on examina-
tion, be found duly qualified, and who shall produce to them
a certificate of the court of the county or corporation where
he has resided for one year next preceding, that he is a per-
son of honest demeanor and is over twenty-one years of age.”
2. All licenses granted or signed by. any judge of the su-
preme court of appeals of this state, since the fourteenth day
of January, eighteen hundred and sixty-four, shall be as valid
as if granted or.signed by a judge of a circuit court of this
state. |
3. This act shall be in force from its passage.
