Chap. 502.—An ACT for the relief of J. T. Mills.
Approved April 2, 1902.
Whereas, it is alleged that J. T. Mills, of Gloucester county, held cer-
tain oyster bottom in York river, duly surveved, and the plat recorded
in the clerk’s office of York county, the area being assessed as fifty-four
acres; and,
Whereas, according to a recent survey made by the State’s survevor,
there appears to be only forty-one acres in said piece of ground, the said
J.T. Mills having paid for a period of about seven vears thirteen dollar-
per year more rent than he should have been chareed with: therefore,
1. Be it enacted bv the general assembly of Virginia. That the board
of fisheries he authorized and empowered to incuire into the facets con-
cerning said c¢rroneous assessment against said I. T. Mills, and if they
shall find it. in their discretion, to “be a proper case for relief, to au-
thorize and direct the ovster inspector of the district wherein said bottom
lies to allow the said J. T. Mills on his future dues for rent credit ane
te for such sum as he has erroneously paid to the State, if any.
