Chap. 40.—An ACT to authorize the board of supervisors of Frederick county
to purchase the private stock of the North Frederick Turnpike Company.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the board
f supervisors of Frederick county be, and they are hereby, authorized to
urchase any or all of the stock of the North Frederick Turnpike Com-
any, in said county, which is now held by private individuals, upon such
erms and conditions as shall be mutually satisfactory as between said
ward and the private stockholders: provided, that nothing in this act or
ny previous act of the general assembly shall be so construed as to re-
juire the said board of supervisors to take up and maintain, from the
olls thereof, any part of said North Frederick turnpike which has been
wrctofore abandoned by said company.
