Chap. 78.—An ACT to repeal certain parts of the act of May 11, 1862,
and to prescribe Oaths to be taken in certain cases.
Passed February 14, 1866.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the act passed May fourteenth, eighteen hundred and sixty-
two, entitled an act to amend and re-enact the act entitled an
act prescribing oaths in certain cases, and providing for the
registration of the same, except the seventh section thereof,
be and the same is hereby repealed; and in lieu thereof, it is
hereby enacted that before any person shall hereafter receive
any license to practice any profession, or to conduct any
business or calling for which a license is required, he shall
take, before a commissioner of the revenue, or before any
other person authorized to administer oaths, the oath to sup-
port the constitution of the United States, and the oath of
fidelity to the commonwealth.
2. This act shall be in foree from its passave.
