Chap. 70.—An ACT to amend the 2d section of the act passed Decen-
ber 19, 1865, staying the Collection of Debts for a limited period,
Passed December 20, 1865,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That the second
section of the act entitled an act staying the collection of
debts for a limited period, passed December nineteen, eighteen
hundred and sixty-five, be amended and re-enacted s0 as to
read as follows:
“$2. If any execution shall have been levied before the
passage of this act, the property levied on shall be restored
to the defendant. but shall remain subject to the lien of the
execution atoresaid: but nothing in this act. contained shall
be construed to apply to any case of debt or contract. arising
subsequent to the second day of April, eighteen hundred
and sixty-five.”
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
