Chap. 33.—An ACT to amend and re-enact the 15th section of chapter 15
of the Code of Virginia (edition of 1860).
Passed March 3, 1866.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That the fifteenth
section of chapter fifteen of the Code of Virginia (edition of
1860) be amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
“$15. The clerk of the house of delegates shall be keeper
of the rolls. As such, he shall cause all the acts and join
resolutions of the assembly to be enrolled on substantia
paper, of uniform size; and after they shall have been ex
amined by the committees on enrolled bills, and signed by thi
president of the senate and speaker of the house of delegates
he shall cause the same to be bound in one volume, in durabl
style. He shall have the custody of the acts and joint reso
lutions of the general assembly, and the records and paper
of the house of delegates, and when required, shall make :
copy of any of them; which copy, being certified by him
shall be evidence for any purpose for which the original
would be received, and with as much effect. Ie shall, a
soon as practicable after the adjournment of the assembly
prepare the acts and joint resolutions of the previous sessio)
for publication, with an index and tables, as prescribed by thi
sixteenth chapter, and furnish to the public printer, or othe
officer authorized to execute the public printing, the manu
script of such acts, resolutions, tables and index, arrange
properly for being printed; and he shall superintend th
publication thereof.”
2. Be it further enacted, That the second section of th:
act passed July twenty-fifth, eighteen hundred and sixty-one
entitled an act prescribing the duties and fixing the compen
sation of the clerks of the senate and house of delegates, b
and the same is hereby repealed.
3. This act shall be in force from its passave.
