Chap. 317.—An ACT to incorporate the Botetourt Savings Institution of
Buchanan.
Passed February 23, 1866.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
William D. Couch, James T. Lockridge, Jordan Anthony,
William W. Boyd, John 8. Wilson, Edmund Pendleton and
Savings Institution, at Buchanan; with all the powers, rights
and privileges, and subject to all the responsibilities and
duties provided with reference to savings banks, by existing
general laws, except so far as herein otherwise provided.
”, The eapital stock of said savings institution shall be
fixed at twenty-five thousand dollars, to be divided into
shares of ten dollars each.
3. Said savings institution is authorized to guarantee or
insure the payment of bonds, notes, bills and other pecuniary
obhyations, and to charge for such guarantee or insurance
such rate of premium as shall be agreed on.
4. This act shall be in force from its passage; subject, to
modification or repeal, at the pleasure of the general as-
sembly.
