Chap. 286.—An ACT to incorpurate the Pound River Brjdge Company.
Passed February 20, 1866.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That it shall be
lawful for James M! Gibson and Adams ‘G. Robinson, and
sich other persons as they may associate with them, their
heirs or assiens. to erect a toll bride across the Pound river,
at the Pound, in Wise county. from the lands of any of the
suid parties, on one side of said river, to the lands of any of
sald parties, on the other side.
2. That so soon as the satd bridee sliall be completed, in a
strong and substantial manner, at least sixteen feet wide, with
strony and substantial hand railings on each side thereof,
thronehont its whole length, not less than four feet and. six
inches, hich, well braced. and with lateral timbers fixed from
the under part of the railing to the flooring of the bridge (to
prevent animals crossing on the bridge trom passing off under
the railing). it shall be lawtul for the county court of Wise
county to appomt three disinterested and ‘intelligent free-
holders to view said bridge, being first duly sworn for that
purpose, and who, or aiajority of whotn, havi ing viewed the
same, shall make report in writing to the said court, whether
the said bridge is completed according to the provisions of
‘this act, or not; and ir they shall report that it is so com-
pleted, then the said James M. Gibson and Adams G. Robin-
son, and such others as they may have associated with them
as aturesaid, their heirs or assigns, may demand and receive
such tolls or rates as may be fixed by law.
3. Said James M. Gibson and Adams G. Robinson, and
such others as may be associated with them as aforesaid,
shall conform to, and be governed by the provisions of chap-
ter sixty-four, Code of eighteen hundred and sixty, so far as
the same is applicable to them.
4. This act shall be in force from its passae.
