Chap. 285.—An ACT conferring authority upon certain persons to erect
a Toll Bridve across the Pamunkey River, in Caroline County,
Passed February 28, 1800.
1. Be it enacted by the gencral assembly, That it shall be
lawful for F. W. Campbell and William “Tl. Chandler, and
such other persons as they ay associate with them, to erect,
across the Pamunkey river, in thee Onnty of Caroline, on the
road known as the “old stave road,” le ading from Richmond
to Fredeneksbure, a toll bride, upon the eround formerly
covered by a bridge which was Hurned lately. across said
river. to be proc ‘eeded with as required by chapter sixty-four
of Code of Virginia (eighteen handred and sixty).
?. It shall be lawful, after said bridge has been completed,
for the parties herein named, or their legal representatives or
heirs, to collect tolls at the tollowing rates, to wit: For every
person, horse. steer, bullock, cow, mule or jackass, five cents:

hog or sheep. three cents.
All laws in force in recard to bridges shall apply to this act.
1. This act shall be in force trom its passaze; subicet to
modification or repeal by the general assembly.
