Chap. 284.—An ACT to authorize the erection of a Bridve across the
North Anna River, in Caroline County,
Passed February 28, 1866.
1. Beit enacted by the general assembly, That it shall be
lawful for James Tlunter, Joseph M. Wyatt, Wilham C.
Tompkins, Joseph M. Seay and Thomas Tiurt, of the county
of Caroline, and C. Fk. M. Garnett, of ITanover county, to
erect a toll bridve across the North Anna river, at a point
known as “ Morris’ bridee,” on the lines of the above named
counties, to be governed by existing Jaws in reference to
bridges.
2. When the bridve above directed to be built shall have
heen declared completed as provided tor by law, it shall be
lawful for the persons named above, or their heirs or legal
representatives, to eolleet the following rates of toll, to wit:
For every person, horse, mule, steer, bullock and wheel,
passing over said: bridge, five cents; for every sheep or hoy,
three cents. 1
3. This act shall be in force from its passage; subject to
alteration or repeal, at the pleasure of the gencral assembly.
