Chap. 273.—An ACT to incorporate the Old Dominion Towing and
Transportation Company. ,
Passed February 26, [sen.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That William
Lamb, George Sangster, Marshall Parks, Porter Sherman, W.
If. C. Ellis, E. C. Robinson, Edward T, IIardy, W. H.C.
Lovett, James R. Ricks and W. C. Marrow, junior. shall be
and they are hereby authorized to open books of subseription
to form a joint stock company by the name of The Old Do-
minion Towing and Transportation Company; for the pur-
pose of towing and transporting, by steamer or otherwise,
from the port of Norfolk to any point on the navigable
waters of Virginia. ”
2. The capital stock of said company shall be one hundred
thousand dollars, to be divided into shares of one hundred
dollars each.
3. ‘Lhe company may hold and convey such real estate as
is necessary for its business.
4. When twenty thousand dollars be subseribed, the com-
pany shall be incorporated.
5. The said company shall be subject to the provisions of §
the Code of Virginia, and acts amendatory thereof, applica-
ble to incorporated companies.
6. This act shall take effect from its passave. c
