Chap. 265.—An ACT to incorporate the Old Dominion Porcelain and
Glass Company.
Passed February 13, 1866.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of the common-
wealth of Virginia, That William H. Farrar, Ira P. Hodgdon
and John J. Fry, and such other persons as may hereafter be
associated with them, shall be and they are hereby incorpo-
rated and made a body politic and corporate, for the purpose
of mining porcelain clay and other minerals, and mianufac-
turing crockery and glassware of every description, and fire
bricks, and vending the same, under the name and style of
The Old Dominion Porcelain and Glass Company; and are
hereby invested with all the rights, powers and privileves
conferred on such bodies politic, and to continue for fifty
ears.
2. That the capital stock of said company shail not be less
than one hundred thousand dollars nor more than five hun-
dred thousand dollars, divided into shares of one hundred
dollars each.
3. That said company may hold land and mining proper-
ties, not exceeding five thousand acres, in any part of the
state of Virginia.
4. That the president and directors of the company-shall
have power to issue coupon or other bonds, not exceeding
one-half of the capital stock of said company, and the pro-
perty of the company shall be security therefor.
). This act shall take effect from its passage; subject to
alteration, modification or repeal, at the pleasure of the
general assembly.
