Chap. 257.—An ACT to incorporate the Rockbridge Manuwacturing
Company.
Passed February 24, 1866.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That James G.
Paxton, E. S. Tutwiler, George W. Shields, William Me-
Laughlin and John W. Barclay, and such other persons as
may hereafter be associated with them, shall be-and they are
hereby incorporated and made a body politic and corporate,
under the name and style of The Rockbridge Manulacturing
Company; for the purpose of manufacturing articles com-
posed of wool, cotton, wood, iron, or either of them, or in
part of either of them; and of er ecting mills to grind erain;
and are hereby invested with all the richts, privileges and
owers conferred on such bodies politic and corporate vene-
rally by the provisions of the Code of Virginia, and subject.
to all the restrictions and regulations of said Code, or any |
laws applicable thereto.
= Jnecapital stock of said cCampany shall not be less than
twenty-five thousand dollars nor more than five hundred
thonsand dollars, to be divided into shares of one hundred
dollars each; and the said company shail have the right to
own not excceding two hundred acres of land in the county
of Rockbridee.
