Chap. 249. An ACT to revive the Charter og the Keswick Coal Mining
Company, aud to amend the sanie,
Passed February 135, 1550.
1. De it enacted by the general assembly, That the act en-
titled an act incorporating the Keswick coal mining company,
passed January fourteen, eghteén hundred and forty- -six, be
and the same is hereby revived, and, subject to the amend-
ments hereinafter contained, is extended for a period of thirty
years from the passage hereof,
2. Be it also enacted, That in addition to the names of
persons authorized to organize said company by the first sec-
tion of said charter, the names of Junius L. Archer and Dab-
ney M. Archer are hercby added.
3. Said company shall be subject to the provisions and
reculations, In reference to mining companies, contained in
the Code of Virginia, as far as applicable and consistent.
4. That the second section of the act passed January four-
teenth, eighteen hundred and forty-six, be amended and re-
enacted so as to read as follows:
“2. That the capital stock of said company shall not be
less than twenty-five thousand nor more than five hundred
thousand dollars, in shares of one hundred dollars each: and
the said company shall have the right to purchase and hold
lands, in the said counties of Powhatan and Chesterfield, not
excecding five thousand acres.”
5. This act shall be in force from its passage, and shall be
subject to future modification or repeal, at the pleasure of the
general assembly.
