Chap. 241.—An ACT incorporating the Iron Mountain Mining and Manu-
facturing Company of Montgomery and Craig Counties, Virginia.
Passed March 3, 1806.
1. Be it enacted by the gencral assembly of Virginia, That
J. Warren Slaughter, George B. Scott, J. D. Harvey, John
H. Williams, C. T. Smith, Granville J. Kelley, Alfred Moses,
George Guest, George Guest (attorney, &c.), J. W. Ford,
John E. Tackett, William A. Jackson and Robinson
and Brother be and are hereby incorporated and made a body
olitic and corporate, under the name and style of The Iron
MTountain Mining and Manufacturing Company, of Mont-
gomery and Craig counties, Virginia; and shall be invested
with all the powers, privileges and advantages, and subject
to all the rules, regulations and restrictions prescribed by the
Code of Virginia (edition of eighteen hundred and sixty),
applicable to corporations of this character, and not incon-
sistent herewith. ,
2. The said company is hereby authorized and empowered
to engage in the mining and manufacture of iron in the
counties of Montgomery and Craig, in the state of Virginia,
and may purchase or otherwise acquire and hold land, not
exceeding five thousand acres in the aggregate, at any one
‘time, and to make all necessary by-laws tor the regulation of
their business, not inconsistent with the laws of the state and
the provisions of this act.
3. The capital stock of said company shall be fifty thou-
sand dollars, but may be increased to two hundred thousand
dollars, divided into shares of one hundred dollars each.
4. This act shall be in force trom its passage, and subject
to modification, alteration or repeal, at the pleasure of the
general assembly.
