Chap. 239.—An ACT to incerporate the Shenandoah Copper Mining
Company.
Passed February 28, 1866.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That Wilham C.
Overall, John Baker, and such other persons as shall here-
after be associated with them, shall be and they are hereby
incorporatedkand made a body politic and corporate. under
the name and style of The Shenandoah Copper Mining Com-
pany; for the purpose of mining for copper and other mine-
rals, and manufacturing copper and other metals in the coun-
ties of Page, Warren, Madison and Greene, in the state of
Virginia, and of sclling and transporting the same to a dis-
tant market: and they are hereby invested with all the
powers, rights aud privileges conferred on such bodies politic
and corporate, and made subject to all the rules, regulations
and restrictions nmposed by the Code of Vir cinia (cdition of
eighteen hundred and sixty), and not inconsistent with this
act,
2. That the capital stock of said eompany shall not be less
than one hundred thousand doUars nor more than ten hun-
dred thousand dollars, to be divided into shares of one hun-
dred dollars each; and the said company shall have the right
to purchase and hold lands, in one or more parcels, in the
said counties of Pace, Warren, Madison and Greene, not ex-
eeeding twenty thousand acres.
This act shall be in force from its passave; subject, how-
ever, to amendment, modification or repeal, at the pleasure
of the general assembly.
