Chap. 235.—An ACT to incorporate the Tomahawk Coal Mining Company,
Passed February 28, 1868,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
W. B. Wooldridge, R. L. Walker, W. G. Clarke, and such
other persons as may be hereatter associated with them, and
their successors, are hereby created a body politic and cor-
porate, under the name and style of The Tomahawk Coal
Mining Compauy; to search for. mine, transport. and vend
coal and other minerals.
“. That the said company shail have power and authority
to appoint one or more of its members, or other person or
persons, to arrange, control and direct the business of said
company, according to the by-laws, rules and regulations
which said company may from time to time adopt for its
government and the transaetion of its business; and shall be
invested with all the rights, powers and privileges conterred
on such bodies politic and corporate in relation to joint stock
companies and corporations @enerally : and shall be subject
to all the rnles, regulations and restrictions contained in the
Code of Virginia and any law amendatory thereof, excepting
where the samme may be inconsistent with the provisions of
this act.
3. Vhe capital steck of said company shall not be less
than fitty thousand dollars nor more than tive hundred thou-
sand dollars, divided into shares of one hundred dollars each ;
and said company shall have the right to purchase and hold
lands in the county of Chesterfield, not exceeding five thou-
sand acres.
4, This act shall be in force from its passage, and be sub-
ject to amendment, modification or repeal, at the pleasure of
the general assembly.
