Chap. 22.—An ACT to provide more ctlectually for the punishment of
Horse Stealing,
Passed February 12, 1866.
1. Beit enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
any person who sh: Wl be guilty ot the lar ceny of a horse,
mule or jackass, shall be punished with death, or in the dis-
cretion of the jury, by confinement in the penitentiary for a
period of not less than five nor more than eighteen vears.
2. This act shall be in force from its passave.
