Chap. 201.—An ACT incorporetivg the Lynachbure and Danville Railroad
Company.
Passed February 21, 1866.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That it shall be
lawful to open books of subscription in the city of Lynch-
burg, under the direction of F. B. Deane, Samuel McCorkle,
John M. Warwick, D. W. Burton, Bowling Clarke, Charles
Hf. Lynch, A. J. Clark, or any three of them; and in the
town of Danville, under the direction of William W. Keen,
W. T. Sutherlin, J. C. Voss, J. M. Walker, William AL. T red-
way, J. M. Whittle, L. M. Shumaker, or any three of them,
for the purpose of receiving subscriptions to an amount not
exceeding two millions five hundred thousand dollars, in
shares of one hundred dollars each, to constitute «a4 joint
capital stock for constructing a railroad from the city of
Lynchburg to the town of Danville.
‘2. Be it further enacted, That whenever one hundred
thousand dollars of the amount -aforesaid shall have been
subscribed, the subscribers, their executors, administrators
and assigns, shall be and they are hereby declared and con-
stituted a body politic and corporate, under the name and
style of The Lynchburg and Danville Railroad Company ;
and shall be entitled to all the privileges conferred, and sub-
ject to all the restrictions and regulations imposed by the
Code of Vir ginia, and acts of the general assembly amenda-
tory thercof, so fur as the same are applicable to and not
inconsistent with this act.
3. ‘This act shall be in force from its passace.
