Chap. 198.—An ACT to incorporate the Saint Francis Infirmary in the
City of Richmond.
Passed February 26, 1866.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That Annie
Roche, Margaret Noyland, Alice Rooney, Josephine Barry,
Laura Heath, and their successors, be and they are hereby
constituted and made a body politic, under the name and
style of The Saint Francis Infirmary in the City of Richmond;
for the purpose of receiving and taking care of such sick and
disabled persons as may, under the rules and regulations of
the said corporation, be received; and by this name and style,
are invested with all the rights and privileges conferred, and
made subject to all the rules, regulations and restrictions pre-
scribed by the fifty-sixth and fifty-seventh chapters of the
2. The persons mentioned in the first section shall consti-
tute the board of trustees of said corporation, with power to
fill any vacancies that may oeeur, in their own body, by death,
resignation, removal or otherwise. ‘Che said corporation shall
have power to hold real estate in the city of Richmond or
county of Henrico, not to exceed in all five acres, and not to
exceed, in value, fifty thousand dollars, for intirmary pur-
poses; and shall also have power to take donations, not to
exceed, in the whole, one hundred thousand dollars, and ap-
ply them for the use of suid infirmary.
3. The said trustees shall have power to make rules and
reenlations for the manavement of said infirmary, and the
admission, control and government of the inmates thereot,
consistent with the constitution and laws of the state of
Virginia.
4. This act shall be in force irom its passage, and subject
to modification or repeal, at the pleasure of the general as-
sembly.
